ROUTE CHANGE

-

Citylink bus passengers in Welbourn, Merrilands and Highlands Park are in line to receive greater coverage. The two routes that service those areas will be changed on Monday, 5 September, says Taranaki Regional Council Transport Services Manager, Chris Clarke. Route 7 will add Awanui St and Nevada Drive all day, and Route 8 (which was split between a peak and an off-peak route) will drop the off-peak section and run the peak route all day, giving increased coverage. The direction of travel on Karaka St, Riversdale Drive and Kauri Stwill be reversed, allowing easier turning access for the bus from Mangorei Rd.

DOCTOR FREE

The world’s most accurate health diagnosis service, the free Ada app, has become the top downloaded health app in New Zealand, even surpassing AirBnB, LinkedIn, and Tinder in popularity. ‘‘Instead of going to a doctor to tell him or her your symptoms and receive a diagnosis, you can simply use Ada in the comfort of your home when you or a family member is feeling unwell,’’ explains Ada CEO Daniel Nathrath.

1080 SUPPORT

Using 1080 on Mt Taranaki will help protect cattle from bovine tuberculosis, says Taranaki Federated Farmers. ‘‘Federated Farmers is mystified as to why people are still complaining about the use of 1080, long after it’s been established as a key tool in New Zealand’s environmental protection system,’’ said vicepresident Donald McIntyre. A fortnight ago a helicopter conducted the first drop of nontoxic bait pellets on the mountain.
