OR­GAN RECITAL: Last month, Di­rec­tor of Mu­sic to Taranaki Com­mu­nity & Cathe­dral,

Christo­pher Luke, be­gan a new se­ries of Lunchtime Or­gan Recitals at St Joseph’s Ro­man Catholic Church on Pow­der­ham St. This se­ries will be held on the first Tues­day of each month begin­ning at 1pm (fol­low­ing the Mid­day Mass). The next recital will take place on Tues­day Oc­to­ber 4. On Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 5 at 11.30am, Luke will re­turn to the Taranaki In­terim Cathe­dral to give his fi­nal hymn lec­ture for 2016. With in­ter­est­ing facts and record­ings to lis­ten to, as well as the chance to sing the hymn it­self, Luke will ex­plore the well­known para­phrase of Psalm 23, The Lord’s my shep­herd sung to the tune Cri­mond. En­try by gold coin do­na­tion.

BLUES BAND: Laura Collins and the Back Porch Blues Band are bring­ing their own brand of the blues live to New Ply­mouth. At the 4th Wall Theatre on Satur­day Oc­to­ber 1 . 7.30pm, book­ings 4th Wal­lTheatre tick­ets $25.

MU­SIC GROUP: The Mix­ture of Mu­sic Group meets ev­ery sec­ond and fourth Sun­day af­ter­noon, 1-4pm at the New Ply­mouth Se­nior Cit­i­zens Hall, 33 Liardet St, ad­mis­sion $3. Ev­ery­one wel­come.
