FROM YOUR PAPER

Taranaki certainly knows how to turn it on when it matters. The weather last weekend was wonderful and made such a difference to Womad. Thousands of people danced, sang and ate their way through three days. Many camped at the racecourse and the hospitality industry was full to the brim. We really know how to party.

This week we have a wide variety of interesting stories of people and events. There is the story of the Womad entertainers who visited the schools; the wonderful generosity of a woman who donated a piano to a rest home and our usual What’s On pages.

Speaking of which, because of the huge popularity of these pages it is impossible to get everything in so some clubs, sports and dance posts do get dropped some weeks. I try to be fair but if I have forgotten anyone for a few weeks please let me know and I will rectify it for you.
