Pukeiti hosting fun run
Pukeiti Puffer gives participants chance to see property
The annual Pukeiti Puffer fundraising fun run on Sunday March 26 is the perfect excuse to check out recent developments at the iconic heritage property.
For the athletically inclined, events will include a 2km run suitable for children, a 7.3km walk/ run for adults and big kids, and a testing 14.5km run through the rainforest incorporating stream crossings and steep climbs.
Staged in association with the Shoe Clinic and TET Athletics Taranaki, the Pukeiti Puffer raises funds for the Cameron Clow Trust as well as TET Athletics Taranaki.
Download a registration from bit.ly/Puffer2017, or call in at the Shoe Clinic, 87 Devon St East, New Plymouth, or email olly@athleticstaranaki.org.nz. Cashonly registrations will take place from 9.30am on the day.
Besides the runs, there will be games on the main lawn, and visitors will also be able to check out progress on the new Rainforest Centre (the old gatehouse) and inspect the new aerial walkway to the waterwheel, the Misty Knoll ‘secret garden’ and other new attractions.
CAMERON CLOW TRUST
The Cameron Clow Trust helps young Taranaki sportspeople to reach their sporting ambitions by offering financial assistance.
It was set up in memory of Cameron Clow, a Taranaki teacher and accomplished athlete who was killed in an accident while on a training ride in Bahrain in 2009.
His sporting passions included rugby, swimming, surf life saving, triathlons and multisport, and he represented various sports up to national level.
