Ups and downs of life

- BLANTON SMITH OPINION

THUMBS UP

TO: The Stratford District Council for dumping a truckload of snow in the city centre on Friday. With roads to the mountain closed it was a brilliant idea to bring the white stuff to town for the children to enjoy.

TO: Oranges. You’re tasty and provide a great source of vitamin C, thanks for keeping us healthy during winter.

TO: Linemen. Thank you for working through the wild weather to restore power to homes across the region. Working in the freezing cold and howling wind can’t be easy, we salute you.

THUMBS DOWN

TO: Pyjama shoppers. Sure they’re warm and extremely comfortable but pyjamas are not to be worn outside the house. Wearing your pyjamas to the supermarket is not okay, no matter how cold it is.

TO: The truck driver who damaged the Bertrand Rd bridge, we’re glad you were caught out and the company made to pay for repairs. Thank goodness the bridge has now been reopened.
