GRASS ROOTS

Community groups can apply for the Fonterra Grass Roots Fund. The fund helps more than 300 community groups nationwide each year, supporting projects that help maintain vibrant, healthy and safe communities. Northland groups that benefited last year included Far North Search and Rescue, who were able to purchase new high quality GPS units and Whangarei Youth Space Trust. Applications for the next round close on March 31. Grants range from $500 to $5000 for projects that fit into one of three categories: ‘Bringing communities together’, ‘caring for our environment’ and ‘making our communities safer’.
