The Christchurch City Council voted to push ahead with a total ban on freedom camping in vehicles without toilets on Thursday. With the Christchurch ban, the campers could bypass Christchurch to the likes of Waimakariri and Hurunui, prompting the wider Canterbury councils to review their stance.
