Parnassus-Cheviot Pig Hunt

After taking a year off, the big three day hunt is back on.

an impressive mix of businesses and local farmers. The heaviest boar is worth $400, heaviest sow $300 as well as average boar and average sow, longest tusks and heaviest deer. There are prizes for Best Youngest Hunter 12-16 years (Boar Only section) and there are junior categories for possums, hares and rabbits and the longest possum’s tail. Food and refreshments are available for purchase on the day, with plenty of entertainment for the kids while the adults swap stories. The funds raised go to Cheviot Area School to boost their educational pursuits.
