Big day in the dirt at Canty ATV Championship
A little bit of drizzle only added to the spectacle at the Amberley ATV MX track as more the 60 racers pushed for titles at the Canterbury motocross ATV championships in Amberley.
Amberley’s Ian Ffitch took out the Premier Class after an epic duel with Christchurch’s Craig Cox. Ffitch also had a big battle with Christchurch rider Greg Graham in the Veterans, with the pair unable to be separated after the four rounds.
Ashburton’s Craig Copland took the honours in the Clubmans class, while in the 450 Production, Christchurch’s Taylor Graham outgunned his father Greg Graham.
Angus Parish continued his strong season collecting the 250 Production. Rounding out a good day for the Grahams, Bailey Graham won the 125 Production.
In the Mini Kids, Harrison Graham was first, ahead of Caitlyn and Ellie Parish third.
The Canterbury Championships were only a warm up for the Amberley ATV MX track which will host the National Championships on October 22-23.
With both North and South Island titles and now another Canterbury Championships title, Angus Parish will be looking for his first national title, but it could be an Australian one as he will first test himself across the Tasman at the Australian Championships next week.
