TOUR DE CHEVIOT

The 2017 Calder Stewart Cycling Series will start in Cheviot on Sunday. The cycling series showcases some of New Zealand’s best riders and teams going head to head over six races, starting with a new course due to the section of State Highway One having lower traffic volumes due to earthquake effected roads. The opening race of the series will start and finish in Cheviot, with a 27km loop to Gore Bay. The women race three laps, the masters do four and the men have five laps to complete. This year’s series had a record 12 Men’s teams registered, 14 masters teams, and a record breaking 10 women’s teams to date.
