Oh the joys of a renovation project. We’ve been without a bathroom for a while now - a leaky shower that wasn’t covered by insurance put the main bathroom out of action for some months.

A few weeks ago, I bit the bullet and finally arranged to get the thing fixed.

And of course it turned into the mother of all fixes - a complete gutting of the bathroom with new tiles, bath, vanity, toilet and paint. The only thing that’s going back in is the shower glass.

So hopefully by the end of this week we’ll have a bath back in action - and there will be a queue, I assure you - and I just might have my ensuite back to myself.

I won’t miss the middle of the night visitors, the early morning risers, or the chaos of teenagers heading out for the evening.

I’m also quite looking forward to having a long hot soak in my brand new tub – it might drown out the dent it put in the bank account!
