RHS BEAT WAITAKI

The Rangiora High School 1st XV outclassed Waitaki Boys’ 34-5 in Geraldine in their second preseason rugby match on Saturday. In wet conditions, RHS gained early dominance over Waitaki, who finished fourth in the Highlanders 1st XV competition, to lead 12-0 after Josh Duckworth scored twice. Waitaki then attacked for long periods but were unable to breach the defence until mid-way through the third quarter. RHS responded with a try to Isaac Pulley before running away with the game in the final quarter. Tries to Tom Lindsay and Jesse Bowring sealed a satisfying 34-5 win. Their next pre-season match is against Burnside HS on April 8.
