FROM THE EDITOR

-

My weekends are generally a manic mix of kids, housework, a bit of writing, some craft work, and plenty of work work catching up on stories written by others, planning the week ahead, getting ahead of the game before the craziness of the week comes rushing through the door on Monday morning.

This past weekend, however, I got sidetracked. And I loved it.

Saturday was spent in New Brighton hanging out at the Rockabilly Show and Shine. Beautiful cars and beautiful people passionate about their chosen lifestyle.

Sunday, after the housework I got corralled into painting flower pots, then getting potting mix and flowers for said pots. Before I knew it, I was swept up in colour, dirt, dreams and plans. I was heaving pots around, upending bag after bag of dirt, and marvelling at the incredible colours of flowers - and I’m particularly taken with the new ‘Bumblebee’ petunia, especially in a yellow pot!

My best laid plans were set aside, and not a regret was had.
