November 26 marks the Ohoka Garden Tour and Fete.

The Ohoka Garden Tour and Fete is just around the corner and homeowners are putting the finishing touches to their prized grounds ahead of the big day.

Organised by the Ohoka School PTA, the event has been running for 26 years, and this year six gardens will be open to the public, including Millstream Gardens, a four and a half acre paradise which owners Elaine and John Lynn have brought to life with a lot of love and hard work over two decades.

Come and get lost, or at least inspired, by beautiful surroundings, exquisite planting, sheds, follies, water features and more as you take your time to explore the gardens in your own time.

There will be rose care demonstrations, open homes, art in a garden, and much more to discover on the walk, while the fete will provide entertainment for the kids, refreshments, a Pimms tent and plenty of crafts and gifts to buy ahead of the Christmas rush.

Organiser Louise Johnson said the event, which is held every two years and is a major fundraiser for the school, would showcase the small country village’s finest properties at the same time as bringing the community together for a fun day out.

More than 1,000 tickets were sold to the 2015 tour, and organiser Louise Johnson said she was hopeful to see an increase in sales this year.

The tour will be held from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, November 26.

Tickets, which cost $25, can be purchased from Woodend Nurseries, GAS Ohoka, Niche Gifts in Rangiora, Terra Viva Cafe, and Kaiapoi Florist, as well as online from eventfinda.co.nz.

Gate sales available on the day at $30.
