OLD MAN’S BEARD MUST GO
Continued thanks for the magazine that’s always helpful and inspiring – with one ‘but’.
In trying to establish a garden on my property, I’m battling all the baddies: ivy, onion weed, elderberry, nettles, a solanumtype creeper, montbretia, docks and aluminium weed. One thing I don’t have, or covet, is old man’s beard, so could we please be spared any more about Robert Guyton’s facial proliferation! Perhaps your southernmost contributor could be encouraged to do as the others do and write for actual gardening interest, with appropriately horticultural illustrations. I’m sure he has much more to offer of more general interest. Nick Macfarlane, INVERCARGILL
