Kiss the Sky
29 June to 1 July, Bruce Mason Centre, Auckland The southern sky, the seasons and concepts of rebirth and death are centre stage in a brand new triple- bill offering from The New Zealand Dance Company timed to coincide with Matariki. ( The Maori name for the star cluster also known as Pleiades, Matariki is visible around the shortest day of the year and heralds in the Maori New Year.) Three dynamic, artistically diverse choreographers – Korean Kim Jae Duk, New Zealander Sue Healey and Australian Stephanie Lake – are the masterminds behind the three works.
