THE BUZZ IS very real when I spy the latest copy of NZ Life & Leisure on the supermarket shelf; perhaps even more so since lockdown. It has been a touch of normality in an upsidedown world. To still see creative Kiwis going about their business in stormy times brings a sense of calm. Thank you for all the work your team does in pulling this beautiful magazine together.
My beloved sister is in lockdown in the heart of Melbourne currently — a place where mental health issues are running high due to all the stress and anxiety. To send my housebound, Kiwi- born sister a bit of love from New Zealand, I put together a small care package. Browsing the shelves for just the right thing to bring her a taste of comfort and joy, along with the kiwi chocolate, coff ee and other treats, I had an “aha” moment when your inspiring mag caught my attention. The perfect addition to her pick- me- up parcel, I know that it will bring her the spark of joy she so needs right now.

IT’S TIME FOR a break from the weeding, lawn mowing and planting, so I am sitting in the garden with the warm spring sunshine on my face, a cuppa in one hand my NZ Life & Leisure magazine in the other. I have been looking forward to this day since my magazine arrived three weeks ago and has been sitting waiting for me to find the perfect time to open it.
A few months ago, I decided it was time to stop working and have a 30-year holiday (if I’m lucky enough to get there). While contemplating going from a lifestyle with a disposable income to one with less disposable income but more time, I decided I needed a few treats to look forward to. So I ordered a subscription.
I was lucky enough to be included in its pages a few years ago ( NZ Life & Leisure, January/ February 2018) and since then have been an avid follower. It is a great magazine, with such a variety of stories, and I love seeing and reading about inspiring Kiwis.
I can’t tell you how much I look forward to each new magazine arriving in my mailbox and taking the time to read the stories. I will pour over each issue with great delight until the next one comes.
