1 GREAT TIP FOR SAVING AVOCADOS

NZ Lifestyle Block - - Your Letters - Betsy Smith, by email

I READ ON page 48 of the March edition of NZ Lifestyle Block magazine about a suggestion for storing cut avocados.

An avocado grower from the Bay of Plenty told me several years ago of a very simple way to keep a cut avocado fresh, nothing extra required. Just run a little cold water over the cut side of the avocado before putting it in the fridge. No covering or other intervention is required.

The water seals the avocado so a light skin forms over the cut edge, and the avocado will keep in the fridge for several days - it’s that easy.

And it works!
