USE THE REFUGIA DRENCHING METHOD

If young sheep start to scour, don’t assume they have worms. Drench only on the basis of a Faecal Egg Count (FEC) and vet advice using the concept of ‘refugia’. This where you don’t drench the top 10-15% of lambs that are growing well. This maintains a population of susceptible worms, which mate with drench-resistant ones to slow overall resistance.
