ARE YOUR ANIMALS FIT FOR TRANSPORT?
Disbudding is an important job and should be done while an animal is young. Removing horns from older animals is a vet-only job. Horns are lethal weapons to you when you’re handling an animal, and to other animals when livestock are transported. If horns are too long, it’s possible animals won’t be allowed to be transported at all because of the potential for injury to other livestock, and bruising to meat and damage to hides, which downgrades the payment from meatworks.
