Any rose (wild or cul­ti­vated) can be used in sal­ads, but older, fra­grant roses have the best flavour. Pull petals gen­tly off the flower and snip off the cream base as this may have a bit­ter taste. Try rose vine­gar which has a de­light­fully sweet, del­i­cate flavour.

Ever thought of putting the wild daisy in your lawn in a salad? Prob­a­bly not, but you can. The larger cul­ti­vated forms can be used also – just pull off the petals and sprin­kle over sal­ads.
