TIP OF THE MONTH

-

The one thing you can do to make sure your adult poultry get the nutrition they need is to have a good quality layer pellet available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A free-range environment does provide food but there are key elements of a hen’s diet that they will not find enough of to keep them healthy and laying consistently. It can be difficult for birds to find the high levels of protein they require. Some of the other important ingredients in the poultry diet are small by weight but vital to the bird’s health and difficult or impossible to find in a free-range area, such as key amino acids.
