My own long and positive experience of micro-hydro suggests it is an untapped resource which needs tapping immediately. If you have a block which traverses around 20m or more of height difference I encourage you to investigate it. A simple old-fashioned windmill and water pump, a pond at the top, a pelton-wheel and pond at the bottom, and you can generate low-cost power pumping the same water round and round.
