DAM LO

A true icon of the New Zealand mini-truckin’ scene is without a doubt Clint Drapper’s ‘DAM LO’ Nissan Navara. Airbagged with an 89mm body drop and an SR20DET under the bonnet, it was wild for the time, but what really set the ute apart was the bodywork, especially in the tray area, which featured a custom-metal-formed inner tub. The Navara was a trophy-hauler during the auto-salon days and continued to transform after our feature, even getting a very wild interior with Perspex seats shaped like women and a centre-mounted subwoofer install. It’s long since left Clint’s ownership and can be found in the South Island still looking as good as it did in ’05.
