NZ Performance Car

Rally killer

-

You’d be forgiven for thinking that this ST205 GT-Four was an ex-works rally car that has been given a new lease on life, in part thanks to the Castrol Toyota Team Europe (TTE) 1995 Rally Catalunya livery applied by owner Greg Martin, a signwriter by trade, and the various TTEspecific components, such as the side mirrors, roof scoop, and bonnet vent.

Styled like something straight out of Sega Rally, Greg explained that the car was built with the intention of taking people back to the golden era of rallying while still remaining reliable for daily-driving duties — something that it continues to be tasked with today. Having applied the livery for the original owner, and founding the NZ GT-Four Owners Club himself, when the car was being sold, it was only right that it go to Greg.

Under its skin, the 3S-GTE heart and running gear remain almost pure stock, with the only notable difference those big 18x8.5-inch Rota Tarmacs that imitate the classic OZ Racing aeros, only with much more diameter.
