Not-so-nana ’ Scort

-

Finding unmolested tin of any description is becoming a pretty hard task for most makes and models now, let alone one from 1970. Geoff told us that he scored this minter off an old lady, but it wasn’t long before the boat anchor it once ran was taken to the local scrapyard for recycling and a much more modern four-banger sunk in its place — an SR20DET. It’s been kitted out with a forged bottom end, big valves, a fair whack of porting, and a Garrett GTX2871R, which pumps out a massive 334kW at the rears. An engineer by trade, Geoff has done most of the work himself but credits the motor bits to Hans at E&H Motors.

While we remember it for already hussing out on track, he told us that there are plans in place for a few more tickle-ups that will include a four-link and Watt’s link rear end with custom turrets and coilovers to suit, and an S15 front-end conversion all in the name of better handling.
