GAUGE MOUNTING

-

On one side of your vertical mount, you’ll want to secure your dial gauge so that its needle will press on the hub plate. The mounting will depend on your style of gauge. We made a small bracket and cut large slots in our vertical mount that allow for height adjustments. On the other side, you will want to mount your bearing arm. The purpose of this arm is to keep your dial gauge at the same distance from the plate so that the dial indicator probe can measure the toe change. A small skateboard bearing or similar works perfectly. Its mount is actually a bonnet pin with a bolt welded to it, which allows for its depth to be adjustable. You’ll want this lenght set so the dial indicator rests in the middle of its 10mm range. It two is height adjustable via a slotted mount. To make these slots drill two holes and then cut between. If these mounts aren’t height adjustable it would make it almost impossible to set up the rig accurately.
