The All Blacks have achieved a phenomenal win record since their first test in 1903. We go through the numbers to get to grips with just how special it has been.

[FAST FACTS]

The All Blacks have played almost 25 per cent fewer tests than England and France and yet they have amassed, respectively, 41 and 27 more test wins than both. While the All Blacks have a win ratio of 79 per cent, they are actually, when draws are included, unbeaten in 81 per cent of their tests. South Africa’s win ratio of 65 per cent has been accrued over 464 tests – 15 per cent fewer tests than the All Blacks have played. Australia have lost almost three times as many test as the All Blacks over the same period – 1903-2016. England could win every test they play for the for the next 40 years and still not have a winning ratio as high as the All Blacks’ current standing at 79 per cent. Almost 72 per cent of the All Blacks’ 107 defeats have been inflicted by Australia and South Africa. Northern Hemisphere sides, excluding the British Lions, have only enjoyed 23 wins against the All Blacks between them. France, with 12 victories, have the best record against the All Blacks of any Northern Hemisphere side.

NZ v TOP NATIONS All Time Record

New Zealand have dominated all of their opponents since 1903. Again, South Africa have been the only country to compete on anything close to an equal footing. New Zealand’s win ratio against the Boks is 61 per cent. The next toughest opponent has been Australia – the win ratio against them is 71 per cent. Against all other nations, the All Blacks have won more than 80 per cent of their tests.
