ALL ROUND SKILLS

Savea is a natural finisher, runner and ball carrier. He is a good decision-maker on defence, knowing when to come out of the line to hit the ball carrier. He’s also strong when he needs to get over the tackled ball and either win it or protect it.

He’s not as good under the high ball as others, but he’s not viewed as overly vulnerable there. He does chip and chase well and kick into space nicely, but he’s not a tactical kicker and not comfortable, really, if asked to clear long from the backfield.
