Injury has been a big problem for him – missing all of 2016 and then a good chunk of this year’s Super Rugby due to a broken foot. As much as the All Blacks admire his skill-set and see it as a hugely attractive point of di erence that defences find di cult to shut down, he may have to wait until later in the year before he wins a starting spot.

Would be a good candidate to make the bench in the tests given his versatility and skill-set.
