OLD DOG: WYATT CROCKETT
The 34-year-old loosehead prop will probably see out his professional career at the Crusaders and has become an important figure at the franchise for his leadership as well as his sense of humour.
Crockett is an incredibly consistent player which is helped by his being seemingly impervious to injury, and in April 2017 he surpassed Keven Mealamu to become the most capped Super Rugby player of all time with 176 appearances.
He shows few signs of slowing down and his longevity will surely be helped by the presence at the Crusaders of Joe Moody, the All Blacks’ first-choice loosehead with whom Crockett combines for an excellent one-two scrummaging punch. Few tightheads would relish the sight of either Crockett or Moody coming off the bench.
