HSV releases Silverado specs and prices
Hot on the heels of the introduction of the allnew Colorado SportsCat, HSV has released full specifications and pricing for its Chevrolet Silverado heavy-duty truck range.
Power, payload and towing capability are what Silverado is famous for and all these attributes will be reflected in the five-model 4x4 Crew Cab line-up that HSV will offer in Australia and here: • 2500HD WT. • 2500HD LTZ. • 2500HD LTZ “Midnight”
Edition. • 2500HD LTZ “Custom
Sport” Edition. • 3500HD LTZ. All five vehicles share the same heavy-duty running gear including: • Duramax 6.6L Turbo
Diesel V8 engine producing 332kW of power and 1,234Nm of torque. Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission. four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. • Heavy duty locking rear differential. The line-up starts with the 2500HD WT – simply short for “work truck” which also features StabiliTrak, a stability control system with Proactive Roll Avoidance and Traction Control with Electronic Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist).
2500HD LTZ
The 2500HD LTZ model then steps it up another gear with features like 18” chrome alloys, chrome body side mouldings and door handles and perforated leather bucket seats, zone automatic climate control and poweradjustable pedals so a driver can set them in the most comfortable position
Of the five Silverado models to be available, the company expects greatest demand to be for the “Midnight” and “Custom Sport” Editions.
“Midnight Edition”
Based off the 2500HD LTZ, and offered exclusively in Black, the product story extends to aggressive styling and unique content including: • Black 18 inch alloys (wrapped in aggressive LT275/65 R18E Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tyres). • Black bumpers, grille, side mouldings, mirror caps and door handles, plus a spray-on bed-liner.
“Custom Sport Edition”.
Like the Midnight Edition, the Custom Sport edition is based on the 2500HD LTZ model but offered exclusively in Summit White The 2500HD range offers a maximum payload of up to 975kg and a maximum towing capacity of up to 5.89# tonnes *(yet to be confirmed here)
3500HD LTZ
Completing the five model Silverado range will be the 3500HD LTZ. This vehicle is the heaviest of duties within the Silverado range, featuring Dual Rear Wheels and a longer tub.
Re-engineering of the Silverado range to righthand-drive began at HSV’s new production facility in Victoria, Australia, in April, with first vehicles expected to land in New Zealand in early June. The 3500HD LTZ model will be available in Q3, 2018.
