August 25th – 26th 2018 Winter Woollies;

Hosted by Desert Defenders Off Road Club, Ohakune. Sponsored by Achilles Radial. A Winter 4WD tagalong trip in the NZDF zones along the Desert Road. Either Saturday or Sunday. ( same trip both days so you choose which day to attend). Our runs are cruisey scenic trips, suitable for shiny 4WDs or those who like a challenge. However they are not full on club truck, winch mud fests. Costs $ 125 per vehicle, The Karioi Domain is available to for camping as always. The hall, kitchen, warm fire and showers will be open for your use and we are providing a wonderful dinner on Saturday night at the Sports Complex at additional cost. Warm and comfortabl­e spot to share your stories of the day and other trips. Day membership will be required for non NZFWDA members. September 9th 2018 Peter Howell Forest Enduro;

Hosted by Auckland Offroad Racing Club. This will be the only forest enduro in the North Island this year, so if you're hanging out for some quality seat time, this will be it. Symes Rd, Maramarua. Will be signposted off Kopuku Rd. Gates open 7am with the first race starting at 10.15am.

October 19th – 21st 2018 Novawinch ‘Battle of the Palace

– Teams Event 2018 at Possum Palace, Northland. Norwest OHV Club is pleased to announce that we are hosting the NOVAWINCH ‘Battle of the Palace – Teams Event 2018’ over Labour weekend this October at Possum Palace in Northland. Open to all competitor­s who are members of the New Zealand 4wd Associatio­n (NZFWDA). Vehicles will have to meet Norwest OHV Club requiremen­ts and a minimum requiremen­t of extreme mud tyres. More in depth details are included with the entry forms. The event is limited to 12 teams. The cost per Team is $ 450 with a $ 50 discount to entries that are paid prior to the 1st August Gates open on Friday 19th Oct, competitio­n runs over Sat 20th and Sunday 21st October (Monday 22nd is a holiday). All Competitor­s are in with a chance of a sponsor prize as drivers names are drawn randomly, so whether you’re first or last you could still walk away with the top prize. March 23rd – 24th 2019 Hereworth 4WD Safari

– The Horonui 4WD Run; The Hereworth Old Boys’ Associatio­n 8th bi-annual Hereworth 4WD trip will be based in and around Horonui, (15 minutes south of Hastings) in the Hawke’s Bay crossing private farmland across a variety of terrain. Accommodat­ion will be camping in a central location with access to water and toilet facilities. Numbers are strictly limited so be in quick. Price includes a t wo course meal Friday and Saturday night, t wo full cooked breakfasts, t wo lunches, hot beverages at the campsite, access to private properties on designated 4WD routes, camping at a single campsite ( treks will be in a clover- leaf fashion). Event registrati­on starts on Friday afternoon at Hereworth School with later arrivals able to register at base camp on Saturday. All vehicles to have current Warrant of Fitness and a minimum of good condition all terrain or better; have proper tow hooks front and rear ( rated for snatch towing) or a tow bar with the tow ball removed ( all tow balls must be removed); must carry proper snatch strap ( limited number available for sale on registrati­on), spade or shovel, fire extinguish­er and first aid kit. Safety belts are to be worn at all times. Pricing $ 475 for one vehicle ( covers t wo persons per vehicle) $ 180 for every additional adult in the vehicle $ 80 for a child 12 years and under ( maximum of four passengers per vehicle).
