Growth, growth and growth again

They say good things come in threes and here’s living proof – welcome to the third edition of NZSUV, a magazine which has gone from strength to strength since its inception.

Part of the magazine’s success has been the inexorable rise in popularity of the subject material. The SUV has rocketed up to being the leading market segment for the industry and shows absolutely no signs of slowing.

In fact, most SUV manufactur­ers are expanding their SUV line-ups in response to consumer demand.

A couple of good examples can be seen on our cover for this edition: Holden for example, now has a quartet of SUVS bearing the badge, while newcomer to the SUV market Skoda, already has two options with multiple specificat­ion and grade levels.

Nor is the market merely introducin­g new products. Existing SUVS are seeing rapid and regular upgrades to keep them up to speed and market relevant, which of course is great news for the consumer, who reaps the rewards of increased safety and technology features.

At one point the SUVS were the last cabs in the ranks to acquire new features and tech, whereas today, they are frequently the technologi­cal showboats for their given brand.

Of course, the consumer is first and foremost looking for the best value for money propositio­n, along with the vehicle which best suits their needs AND one which suits their personal sense of identity, that is to say, a vehicle which appeals to them on a visual level.

For this reason, and the diverse ranges of vehicles available, when it comes to buying SUVS, it’s now more critical than ever for the consumer to first research the vehicles as best as possible first, through expert publicatio­ns and other credible resource outlets.

After this, buyers are well advised to ensure they spend plenty of time in showrooms, becoming familiar with the technologi­cal attributes commonly found on modern SUV’S and everything these features can do.
