RACE ONE

Some hours after the scheduled start time, race one finally got under way. By some miracle, the rain had cleared and the track was dry enough for the cars to be able to head out on slicks. As it was a scratch race, Midgley, who had set the quickest qualifying time, was on pole, and that’s where he stayed for the entire race, coming in ahead of Honnor, who was a very close second. Dalton rounded out the top three, with all three place-getters being from Group1. Perkins, Galbraith, and Anderson were the next group to cross the line.
