Team Bray Racing, which local Team Smith Racing are fortunate enough to have the support of, have been helping to keep Australian doorslammer racing as hectic as possible. Both Victor and Ben Bray set PBs at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event at Sydney Dragway in early May, with Victor netting a 5.86 at 248mph and Ben a 5.70 at 256mph. That event also saw Ben’s Gulf Western Oil–sponsored Corvette and John Zappia’s iconic Monaro partake in the fastest ever side-by-side doorslammer pass in Australian drag racing history. With this kind of expertise and ability filtering through to Kiwi doorslammer racing, the future is looking very bright indeed.
