IN THE BUILD

-

If you’ve recently been to any automotive event in the Canterbury region, it’s likely that you’ll be familiar with Paul Henry’s tough ’58 Chev, also known as ‘Rusty’. However, Paul’s wife, Anita, couldn’t let him have all the fun, so they’re building her a very cool piece of American iron. Anita’s ’74 Chev Nova SS was purchased in Los Angeles during the pair’s trip to the US to watch the Indy 500 last year and still has a numbers-matching 350ci small block. However, the addition of a full Hotchkis suspension kit and four-wheel disc brakes should get it driving nicely. The grille-mounted front indicators are being removed, as a ’72 front bumper has been fitted, and the rear bumper has been moved closer to the body. The Nova is currently at the paint shop and should be ready to go very soon — a perfect opportunity for Anita to start on her ’58 Chev four-door hardtop that’s waiting in the wings. It doesn’t end!
