Tenth arts festival boosted by grant
THE trust behind Arts Festival Dunedin has been given $185,000 to bring the event ‘‘in style’’ to the city next year.
The Otago Festival of the Arts Trust was the biggest beneficiary of the Otago Community Trust donation round this month.
Festival director Nicholas McBryde said the $185,000 would support the delivery of the 10th twoyearly festival, to be held for 10 days from September 21 next year.
‘‘Planning is under way now and a lineup of great international, national and local shows will ensure that the festival marks its 20th year in style.’’
The Otago Community Trust gave nearly $800,000 to 28 community organisations this month.
