Canterbury plan
Christchurch: The Government has launched an economic strategy plan for Canterbury designed to keep it growing as rebuild activity tails off.
‘‘As rebuild activity levels off, there will need to be sustained collaboration with the telecommunications, primary industries, education, tourism, and business sectors,’’ Economic Development Minister Simon Bridges said yesterday.
The strategy covers regional transport planning and investment; digital connectivity; freshwater management and irrigation; education and training; newcomer and migrant settlement; and regional visitor strategy. — NZN
