Holiday park future unclear

- By PAM JONES

CROMWELL: The owners of Cromwell’s only camping ground are considering applying for a private plan change to allow the site to be redeveloped as a residential area.

The Cromwell Top 10 Holiday Park, in Alpha St, was listed for sale earlier this year but did not sell and had been taken off the market, coowner Richard Wallis said.

He and the other coowners, Cath erine Woods and John and Kay Searle, were now considering other options for the site.

They were ‘‘actively looking’’ at applying for a private plan change to rezone the site from rural to residential.

It was too soon to say what would happen to the area, but the owners would publicise their plans when they were firmed up, Mr Wallis said.

Bookings were still being taken for this summer, he said.
