Showing us your pets

-

As discussed yesterday, we have ‘‘rediscovered’’ our supply of pet photos sent to us by readers a while back and intend to feature them from now on.

Please advise if your pet situation has changed since you sent in your entry. And a reminder that entries have closed.

Marg Pascoe writes: ‘‘This is Ruby, my daughter Emma’s 5yearold miniature Jack Russell who loves going fishing and duckshooting, even though the prey is twice her size. She is a much adored part of the family and when she isn’t lounging around in her shark suit, she likes to go on adventures, the last one being when she escaped from home one day, collarless, and paid a visit to the neighbour by sneaking unannounced through their cat door. She expected her escapades would go undetected as, by the time my daughter arrived home from work, she was back there, innocently sitting in her favourite spot in the sun. The perfect crime, but a post on Facebook with her photo asking ‘Whose dog might this be?’ was her undoing. She now has a collar firmly attached with ID in case of further misdemeanours.’’

Rob McKay , of Wanaka writes; ‘‘Not a ‘funny’ shot, but my baby is reluctant to leave me, even when I go to work. I am concerned if my new ‘secretary’ understands this is the ‘out tray’. Dave, my cat’s name is Shylo, aged 5, female and she’s a great baby rabbit catcher, but always delivers them bedside, still alive at around 5am.’’
