Charges after fatal crash
A 34yearold man had seven charges, including manslaughter, laid against him in the Hamilton District
Court yesterday after a police pursuit in Cambridge on Wednesday night.
Cameron Thomas is also facing two counts of reckless driving causing injury and failing to stop for police or render assistance to the victims, after he crashed into a parked car in
Leamington.
A 27yearold Hamilton man died at the scene, while two other passengers are listed as remaining in either a critical or serious condition in Waikato Hospital.
Thomas remains in hospital due to his injuries but entered no pleas to the charges, and was further remanded in custody until his next appearance in the High Court at Hamilton on October 17.
