MacDonald going home

Rugby: Crusaders assistant coach Leon MacDonald is to take a step back from the Super Rugby champion to spend more time with his family, the team said yesterday.

The former All Blacks’ fullback helped Scott Robertson guide the team to its first Super Rugby title in nine years with a 2517 victory over the Lions in Johannesburg in August.

MacDonald will move back to his home town of Blenheim and is to take on a resource coaching role for the team.
