Metservice looks offshore

Wellington: MetService will no longer be just predicting the weather over land, but the seas as well.

The stateowned company bought a 49% stake in MetOcean Solutions in 2013 and announced yesterday it had completed a full acquisition.

MetService chief executive Peter Lennox said MetOcean would help with provide weather services around New Zealand’s coast and further afield.
