It’s a wrap
Logan Park High School pupils Silva McDowell (left) and Sasha Freeman (both 15) wrap up the school’s annual Youth Week with sausages in bread.
Their barbecue stall was one of many market stalls set up by entrepreneurial pupils, offering everything from sausages, cupcakes, sherbet and lemonade to fruit kebabs, popcorn and a shoe shine.
The stalls were fundraising for various school initiatives, including the Charities Group which supports local causes, Amnesty International, sports teams raising money for tournaments and a French class raising money for their trip to New Caledonia next year.
An outdoor lunchtime concert was held alongside the stalls, and provided pupils with another opportunity to hear Carmina, the school’s Otago Smokefreerockquest champions.
‘‘We were fortunate to have wonderful weather,’’ coprincipal Kristan Mouat said.
