Neither match in the Vincent senior cricket competitio­n was played on Saturday as Maniototo defaulted to Blacks Hill and Queenstown called off its game against Cromwell at the Events Centre because of morning rain.

The senior reserve grade continued and the Queenstown Wakatipu side recorded a 102run win over Albion on the Event Centre No 2 ground.

Queenstown Wakatipu High batted first and scored 226 for nine. Om Olva topscored with a fine 104 not out and was well supported by Seth Mawhinney with 35. Jared Cunningham took three for 35.

Albion crumbled to be all out for 124. Cunningham added 41 to complete a good double in a losing effort while Scott Findlay was 33 not out at the finish. Olly Price was the top bowler for the school side with three for 24.

At Cromwell, the home side beat Molyneux by five wickets after the visitors batted first and clocked up 161 for seven. Joe Burkett made 71 not out and Andy Kidd took four for 35 for the host. Cromwell lost five wickets chasing the total and ended on 164 for five. Raj Singh topscored with 62, assisted by Ryan Jones, who made 35.

Maniototo had a sevenwicke­t win over Dunstan High School First XI, chasing down the target and ending with 86 for three. Doug Smith led the chase with a hardhit 53, including four sixes and six fours. Earlier, Dunstan High made 84.
