RNZ Concert provides hours of happy listening

-

I COMPLETELY agree with John Foley’s sentiments (ODT, 7.4.18) on RNZ Concert.

It is a wonderful and enjoyable radio station to listen to. I have had many days of happy listening.

The knowledge, descriptions and friendliness of the radio presenters, put across with an obvious love for the music, is worth listening to and is also a boon to lonely people.

Well done RNZ Concert.

Arrogance over buses

I AM absolutely appalled at the arrogant attitude of Otago regional councillors, and especially support services manager Mr Gerard Collins, in refusing to change the bus stop for Otago Peninsula children attending high schools in South Dunedin. Don’t any of them have children who are affected? Doesn’t their safety matter?

Their whole attitude towards bus services is totally inconsiderate. The public is expected to fit in with their plans, not viceversa.

I previously approached them regarding the removal of a bus stop near the Dunedin Public Library when the bus hub comes into being. No reply was ever received. I’ll have to drive there instead of using the bus. Sue Lloyd

Delays welcomed

EXCELLENT news in the ODT (4.4.18) about further delays in completing the bus hub.

Older people will have a few more weeks of being able to get to Metro and Reading cinemas, the Octagon Over 60s, the library, the civic centre and other places, without having a much longer walk from the hub on Great King St.

When the hub is completed, the closer bus stops near the Octagon will be removed.

When it comes down to it, the more delays the better! Joan Mann
