TracPlus chief says nomination for tech award ‘incredibly validating’
TRACPLUS Global chief executive Trevor McIntyre is ‘‘completely thrilled’’ the company has been named as a finalist in the emerging company category at the New Zealand HiTech Awards.
The Dunedin tech business is a realtime tracking service provider using the latest satellite, web and mobile technology, delivering secure global tracking, sensor monitoring and data analysis services to private, business and government customers worldwide. It has clients in more than 35 countries, including the California Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and Nasa.
‘‘The world is changing and it is incredibly validating to see a company like TracPlus being recognised for the work we do.
‘‘Helping the helpers is an incredibly powerful proposition and we are privileged to serve those who put their lives at risk daily to assist others.
‘‘It truly is a testament to a changing world, a world where community and collaboration matter,’’ Mr McIntyre said.
Hitech awards chairwoman Jen Rutherford said the standard of entries was the highest seen in the history of the awards and it was great to see so many areas of the country represented, as well as a ‘‘huge increase’’ in the number of finalists led by women.
‘‘The number of finalists with female CEO’s has almost doubled yearonyear. While we are not there yet, we are moving in the right direction. Our industry is truly in great shape,’’ Ms Rutherford said.
The winners will be announced in Christchurch on May 25.
The finalists for HiTech Company of the Year are Invenco, Pushpay, Serko, Straker Translations and Vend.
