The Edgar Centre

-

THE Edgar Centre is one of Dunedin’s busiest sports venues. However, unbeknown to some, it also hosts many meetings, conferences and functions in its modern lounges that have breathtaking views overlooking Otago Harbour and the city landscape.

The Edgar Centre has a variety of rooms and spaces to suit everyone’s needs. From a large conference in the More FM Arena to a smaller meeting in its versatile lounges, the Edgar Centre can host your event. The Centre understands the current demands and needs of meetingorganisers and has recently invested in a modern upgrade of its furnishings and AV equipment, which has had a very positive reaction from its clients.

Event and hospitality organiser Jess Rosie believes the simplicity of having a ‘‘onestop shop’’ is a real advantage for her clients. ‘‘Having a full foodandbeverage operation on site, where we can discuss the needs of our client, gives them a flexibility they don’t always get elsewhere.’’

With 400 free parks directly outside the venue and being only a 5minute drive from the city centre, the accessibility of the Edgar Centre ticks all the boxes.

The Harbour View Lounge is one of Dunedin’s premium function spaces, with unrivalled 180degree views over the harbour, Otago Peninsula, and the city through its huge northfacing windows. It can host an event that attendees will remember, whether it’s a corporate function theatrestyle, a boardroom setup or a cocktail party. With capacity for up to 200 guests in a functional and versatile 16m by 12m space, with full bar and catering facilities on hand, this venue will cater for your needs.

The House of Travel Lounge is a comfortable room with fantastic harbour views and a small popular balcony. Ideal for smaller meetings, it can seat up to 40 theatrestyle, or 30 classroomstyle. It now includes stateoftheart audiovisual equipment, including an interactive projector that allows video conferencing, ensuring your company and colleagues can effectively communicate locally, provincially and internationally. It also has a new smart board which connects to your computer for modern presentations.

Jess is happy to respond to any queries and is very willing to show any new clients around the Centre’s function facilities. Contact her on (03) 4561200.
