Burnout Paradise Remastered For: PS4, Xbox One From: EA

AS a racing simulator enthusiast, I find a game like Burnout

Paradise is the complete antithesis of what I typically enjoy. The focus of Burnout is to do massive drifts at full speed, do massive jumps and smash your opponents into oblivion.

And yet, I love it. It’s just so much fun. It strikes both for the player who wants short bitesized periods of gaming and the gamer who will sit for six straight hours.

When it originally came out in 2008, it was a revolution. The single player and multiplayer are seamless: you press a button on the dpad and you immediately switch to playing with others. This was unheard of back then, and even now it’s unusual, but it works brilliantly.

As mentioned before, the point of

Burnout Paradise Remastered is to go as fast as possible, and destroy anything and everything in your way. Everything oozes style. Fancy doing massive drifts on the wrong side of the oneway, while barrelling through fences and flying over massive jumps? Then this game is for you.

Graphically, it’s a big step up from 2008 (as you’d expect), and the frame rate is silky smooth.

The inclusion of all the DLC helps the game — some of the coolest cars are the ones that you previously had to pay for. Particular favourites of mine are the Ghostbusters car and the DeLorean.

This might be one of the best remastered games that’s been released.

If you missed it first time around, it’d be a crime to do it again.
